August 2013 KundaLiving: The Three Minds

“Conquer your mind to conquer the world.”
– Guru Nanak, Japji Sahib

A lot of people in the world today identify themselves with their minds. “I think therefore I am” is a very common idea. Yet, in the science of Kundalini Yoga, you are not your mind. The mind is your servant. You have to understand it and train it. The mind has to follow you.

  • Do you understand that there is a difference between your thoughts and you?
  • Can you command your mind to represent your soul in all of its actions?
  • Or do you get lost in the intrigues of the mind?
  • Do you have a good relationship with your mind?

Yogi Bhajan gave a very sophisticated and comprehensive yogic explanation of the mind. Each of us has a Negative Mind, to protect and warn us of the dangers in a situation; a Positive Mind, to tell us the opportunities; and a Neutral Mind, to weigh the positive and negative input, and then act in alignment with the soul. In the practice of Kundalini Yoga, understanding the Three Minds is a great beginning point in the study of the mind

This month, 3HO is happy to share these tools and resources with you, so you can learn more about the journey to master your own mind.
